A Tour Through Manitoba’s Mysterious Rural Forest
September 17, 2023 @ 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM
National Forest Week / Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF) Event
Join rural forester Guy Harry Shelemy (CIF member) on a walk through Manitoba’s mysterious rural forest.
Listen to stories of the rural forest passed down through generations. Discover rural forestry
and sustainable rural forest management which harnesses nature to work for your trees and wooded stands.
Urbanization increasingly isolates us from the rural forest at our doorstep, so our trees and wooded stands within our rural communities have become shrouded in mystery. But the biological diversity of our rural forest must be maintained – this is critical for the survival of our rural communities and way-of-life.
